Red Shoe Diaries: Season 1
Before there was the book “50 Shades of Gray” there was “Zalman King’s Red Shoe Diaries”. When we were asked to produce the packaging art for the DVD release of the series it only seemed natural to market it in a similar way as the wildly successful “Gray” and it’s familiar mask image on the cover.
Considering this was a television series that lasted five seasons, we wanted to develop a clever way to tie them all together. So, instead of just one item per cover like the book, we would have one featured item per cover and additional items that would span from one cover to the next. When all five seasons would be put side by side it would create a single image as seen by our concept sketch below. Unfortunately to date seasons 2-5 have not been completed.
Finally, this unique concept required custom shot photography which we handled in our studio.
